First Flight

Briley made her first trip to Florence to attend my grandfather's funeral. It was a sad occasion, but I'm glad we got to visit with so many of our family members.

We decided to fly home with Britt from Florence and let my mom drive our car home in peace (no screaming!).

Maddox was so excited to fly in what he calls "my airplane"! He loved it, even though he slept through most of it!

Briley slept for the first 30 minutes or so. She woke up hungry, but thankfully, I was able to take her out of her car seat and feed her. She screamed while we were landing, but it's so loud in there that I could barely hear her! Much better than screaming in the car! No, she doesn't like her car seat very much at all!

3 Months Old!

Briley is growing so fast! She is really a good baby. She sleeps all night sometimes, but usually gets up once to nurse and goes right back to sleep. She wakes up between 7:30 and 8:00, takes 3 naps a day (on a good day) and no longer has her evening fussy time! She found her thumb a few days ago! We are able to put her in her bed awake. She finds her thumb and goes right to sleep. Her brother never did that! The first two months were hard, but things are getting much easier.

Maddox's Third Birthday!

Maddox had his third birthday party at "The Watermelon Patch". Those in attendance included: Mommy, Daddy, Mimi, Pop, Grandad (Bae was sick), Colton, Will, Miranda, Ryan and Natalie, Jackson and Tyler, CJ and Ty, Michael and Anna, Hayden and Brady, and all their parents!

Maddox got to stuff an animal. He chose an elephant that he named Big Al (with mommy's help).
This "roller coaster" is one of his favorite things at the Watermelon Patch! The boys took turns very well!

After some free play time, we did some structured activities with rhythm sticks, a parachute, singing, and dancing. My boy loves to dance!

Maddox got so many fun toys for his birthday: a kite, bat and ball, "Goodnight Moon" game, Diego matching game, Little Einstein's game, a weed eater, Transformer pajamas, a Mickey Mouse play set, Tonka trucks in a box, a sticker book and magna doodle, and money.

We then moved to the party room for cake and ice cream.

What a fun party!

It was raining when we got home, so he rode his new bike in the house!
This was his present from Mommy and Daddy.

Later that evening, Carla and her kids Tyler and Ellie came for a visit. The kids enjoyed playing in Maddox's new sandbox. It was a gift from Mimi and Pop.

Tuesday night, I cooked his favorite meal-spaghetti! I also made cupcakes and Bae and Granddad came over and brought Maddox a few more birthday gifts: a fishing pole and tackle box, and some trucks!
He also got a package in the mail from Aunt Katie and Uncle Jeremy-new Legos!

Maddox is such a joy! What a great 3 years it has been. We are so proud of him! Happy, happy birthday Toot-toot!
