Mickey Mouse, a Booster Seat, and a Bucket

Maddox has suddenly developed a love for Mickey. He says "mickey mowwwwwse"! My mom and dad brought over my old mouse ears the other day. I got these when we went to Disney World when I was 10 or 11 years old. Britt says they are an antique! Apparently Mickey Mouse never goes out of style!

Maddox has now graduated to sitting in a booster seat for all of his meals. This actually started Saturday night when we had some friends over for dinner. Our friends have a 2 1/2 year old son and an 8 month old daughter. The boys sat at the table with us for dinner, and the baby sat in Maddox's highchair. Maddox did not like that one bit! He screamed and cried, but eventually got over it. Now, at every meal he points to the highchair and says "baby"!

Tonight during dinner he "accidentally" knocked his plate off the table TWICE! The first time he did it, food (lasagna and salad) went everywhere. We both stared in disbelief for a few seconds. Maddox broke the silence by saying "oh mess"! I couldn't get too mad, because I love the way he says "mess". It's just too cute!

This evening, Maddox and I cleaned the patio furniture and screen on the porch. He had a little too much fun in the water!

Future Gymnast?

Last week my good friend, Aundrea and her family were in town. Aundrea and I went to high school together. Her daughter Bree is an awesome competitive gymnast and comes down for gymnastics camp every summer. We didn't get to spend much time with them because I was helping with music camp at church every day. We did have dinner with them one night and then went to the gym to see Bree. Maddox had so much fun with Bree, Jax, and Grayson. They have a little toddler area at the gym with a miniature balance beam, a bar to swing on, tumbling mats, etc. I may have to sign him up for classes, because he loved it!

Here's Bree and Maddox swinging on the bar!

Here's a pic of Maddox eating Bree's ice cream.
She was sweet enough to share her ice cream and pizza with him!

It was a fun night!

First (real) haircut!

When I realized that his hair was long enough to put in a ponytail, I knew it was time to take Maddox for a trim. I did cut his 'rat tail' off last December, but it has turned into a true 'mullet' in the last 6 months. We needed help from a professional!
Maddox was so good. Everyone in the salon was impressed. I could tell he was nervous, and he tried to get down a couple of times. But, Leslie did a great job of distracting him. She was really good with him.

After the haircut, we went to church for our usual Wednesday night dinner. Here's a picture of Maddox and his friend Miranda. They were having a blast playing with the booster seats on the floor! Their birthdays are only 1 day apart. It will be neat to see them grow up together at church!

First Boat Ride!

On Saturday, we went to Cyrene, Alabama to Jeremy's family's camp house on the river. The weather wasn't that great, but we were able to squeeze in a boat ride and some waterskiing. Maddox was tired from not having a nap, but still really enjoyed the day. He was surprisingly very well-behaved!

Can't they make these lifejackets a little more comfortable??
