The Circus!

Britt and I took Maddox to the Ringling Bros. Circus a couple of weeks ago. This was his reaction when it first started!
He kept saying "Look Daddy, look Daddy"!

Here he is with his $9 bag of cotton candy that came with a "free" hat!He said his favorite part of the circus was when the clown blew bubbles, then bubbles came out of a trash can. What about the elephants, tigers, acrobats, motorcycles.... No, he liked the bubbles!!

Briley is One Month Old!

I took Briley for her one month check-up today. She weighed 10 lbs. 11 oz. (90th %). Her length was 21 3/4 inches (75th%). I thought it was odd that she is shorter than she was at birth, but the doctor said they just measure differently than the hospital.
Her head is 37 cm (50th%).
Dr. Weinacker said she looks perfect. We're so thankful that she is a big healthy girl!

She is a very sweet, cuddly baby. She is nowhere near being on a "schedule", but is starting to be more predictable. Her day typically starts at 9AM and she takes a couple of good naps during the day. She likes to be held a lot! She wants to nurse every 2-3 hours, and is pretty fussy between 6 and 11PM every night. Then, she wakes to nurse at around 3AM and again at 6AM. I'm so grateful that she goes back to sleep pretty easily after she eats during the night.

Baby Dedication!

Yesterday was baby dedication at church. Briley was the youngest baby there- 12 days old! She did great and slept through the whole thing.

Briley is here!

Briley Delaine arrived at 1:54PM on Tuesday, May 5, 2009. She weighed 7 pounds 15 ounces and was 22 inches long. A big girl! 5 ounces and 2 inches bigger than her brother!
We are all doing great. Briley is still a sleepy newborn. She eats every 2-3 hours and usually goes right back to sleep. Maddox LOVES his baby sister. He always wants to kiss her and love on her. He is requiring some extra loving and cuddling himself, though. That's ok, because he's still my baby, too!

Warm weather

This afternoon, Maddox went swimming with Pop. This was the first time this year that he's gotten in the pool. I wasn't sure how timid he would be, since he really doesn't remember much about last summer. I think he did great, even though the water was really cold! The water was 78 degrees. I don't get in until it gets around 85 degrees!
I think we're gonna have a fun summer!!

Only 4 days (or less?) until we get to meet Briley!
