Maddox was upset when I told him that I had signed him up for soccer. He was nervous and just didn't know what to expect. He surprised me at the first (and only) practice, by getting out there with no problem. He's playing on the Y's Tiny Tots league. We had the one practice at the beginning of the season, then we play 6 games on Friday nights. No keeping score, no goalies, not much structure at all-just a bunch of 3, 4, and 5 year olds chasing a soccer ball! Fun!Well, at the first game, Maddox stayed on the field for about 3 minutes and was done. The team we were playing seemed bigger, older, and better than us. Basically, they had a clue what they were doing and we didn't. Maddox said he didn't like them!Britt asked me how much we paid for this. I was really worried about suffering through the next 6 weeks.Well..... Bae and Grandad took him to his next game because Britt and I were at the UA vs. South Carolina football game. We talked to them after the game and found out that Maddox made two goals and was all over the field! He was like a totally different kid!Since then, he has been the second best player on the team. He is doing great and really seems to love it! It has been well worth the 75 bucks!

Labor Day Beach Trip
To avoid the oil, we went to Panama City Beach and stayed at a place called "Splash". It has an awesome water playground for kids that I thought the kids would absolutely LOVE! Well, I was wrong. It had a huge bucket that fills up with water and dumps out every couple of minutes. Maddox took one look at that and was done. I did get him to go down the waterslide once with me. Briley went down once with me, too.

Briley is always photogenic, I think.

So, they didn't like the waterpark, but they loved the beach and the lazy river pool.

What a nice way to end the summer!

4 Years old and 15 months old
We went last week for their check-ups. This was the first time I've ever scheduled their appointments together, and I'll admit I was nervous! Maddox had to get 5 shots. 3 in one leg, 2 in the other. Poor little guy! It was awful. Briley had a virus (sore throat and fever) so she got out of her shots!
After the appointment we went to Kangarooz, and that made it all better.
Oh, here's their stats:
Briley weighs 22 lbs. 4 oz. (50%) and is 33 inches tall (off the charts!!)
Maddox weighs 39 lbs. 4 oz. (75%) and is 41.5 inches tall (75%).
Here are some pictures from the last few weeks:
We've been dealing with some separation anxiety since school started. Actually, it seems like we are always dealing with it. But anyway, I was trying to go to our church to help decorate for children's choir. I had one kid screaming on each leg. Fun!

The After Party
After Maddox's birthday party, we went home to open all the great presents he got. Thanks everybody!
Then, we headed to Mimi and Pops to swim, eat, and play.
We were so happy to have a visit from some of our family that we don't get to see very much from Houston and Florence! And, Mom stopped for a visit on her way back to Ft. Myers! What a special time!
As usual, I wish I had gotten more pictures of everybody!! We made some great memories!
