Ready for baby Toby!

Briley has been practicing being a big sister! I'm just not sure if she's going to share the swing with the real baby when he comes home! But, she LOVES real babies and is probably going to be all over him! I just can't wait to see how she acts. I showed her a newborn size diaper yesterday and she said "Ohhh, how cute"!!
I can't really tell if Maddox is excited or not. I think he's just getting tired of everyone asking him about the baby!

Toby's room has been ready for a while. I think it turned out pretty cute.

I ordered a custom canvas and hand painted letters to match the bedding from etsy.com
The name Toby means "God is good".

A very eventful few days!

First Briley starts climbing out of her bed at all hours of the night, then she decides to pee-pee in the potty for the first time (yay!!!), then she starts pitching fits at school!
Yesterday, I found out that baby boy has caused me to have gestational diabetes!
Meanwhile, our firstborn, is doing great! His behavior has been excellent!
Life sure would be boring without my precious little ones!

February

We had our first ever 4D ultrasound a few days ago. We got to spend 20 minutes or so peeking at baby brother! Very neat! He had his hands and feet in front of his face for most of it, but she was able to get a few good shots!

Here I am at 281/2 weeks before a date at Ruth's Chris!
My 28 week appt. was not so good. I failed my glucose test and had to be put on iron pills for low iron. I hope I pass my 2nd glucose test!!!
Briley is going through a very trying stage right now. She started climbing out of her crib all night long. For two nights in a row, Britt has put her back in her bed no less than 20 times per night! She and daddy are both very determined to win this battle. My money is on Britt!!
Britt took the front of her crib off and turned it into a toddler bed. Now she can climb in and out without risking a broken bone or concussion!
She has always been such a good sleeper, that all this came as a big surprise. I hope it's just a very short phase and she will go back to sleeping well again very soon-like maybe TONIGHT!

Whew! A busy January

It's a lot of work getting ready for a new baby! We have converted our office/playroom into Maddox's new room. Finding a new home for all the "stuff" that was in that room has been a challenge. We love our house and are thankful that we have 4 bedrooms, but we could really use a separate office. Oh well, we are going to make it work!

Maddox's old room will now be the baby's room. Both bedrooms have gotten a new paint job as well as the den, foyer, and hallways. Two bathrooms to go and the painting will be done for now. The master bedroom and dining room could use a fresh coat, but that will have to wait!
Our house has been a wreck pretty much all month and it's about to drive me crazy! Our schedule is pretty hectic this semester, too. The kids and I have school/work three days a week. Kindermusik one day and my junior league placement at the UCP preschool the other day. Of course, we have church on Wednesday nights and Sundays. Saturdays have been painting/organizing days pretty much all month! I'm now in the third trimester of my pregnancy and running out of energy! Britt has been really busy with work and church stuff, too.
We have found some time to play! Here are a few cute pictures of the kids from a couple of weeks ago.

Maddox is turning into such a big boy and Briley is talking more and more every day. They are at cute ages right now. They are playing together more. Briley loves to hold Maddox's hand when we are walking into school in the mornings. If they start fussing with each other, Briley will say "tiss, tiss" (kiss) and lean over to kiss her brother!
She is saying short sentences now such as "Where's Dada?" and "Look, look, there's a dog"!
