VBS

Maddox was able to participate in VBS for the first time this year. He LOVED it! He's still asking when he can go back to bible school! I was very glad that he had fun, because he really does not like to go to church on Sunday mornings. Hopefully he'll outgrow that soon!
He will very rarely let me video him. So, tonight I begged! He's been singing the VBS songs for 2 weeks and I was able to capture a little on video!
I tried to put these in order from Take 1, Take 2, then Take 3, but blogger is just not user friendly sometimes! So here's Take 3, then Take 2, then Take 1. Enjoy!

New Things

Briley is now 13 months old and is quickly turning into a big girl! She can now follow simple instructions like, "Go put this in the trash", or "Give that to Maddox". She seems to understand just about everything we say, but is still not really saying anything herself! She does a few signs, "more", "all done", and "eat" are the main ones. She also likes to dance and has learned to twirl around and turn circles. I'll try to get a video on here soon. She loves to copy Maddox and wants whatever he's playing with, much to his dismay!

Shoe Girl?

Yesterday morning we were about to head out to Zumba. I sat Briley in my lap to put her shoes on. I had picked out a cute pair of Bobux. Well, she apparently didn't want to wear them. She gave me a grunt while pushing them away. She then went to her shoe drawer and pulled out her sparkly sneakers that Mimi gave her. She backed up into my lap, handed them to me with another grunt! I was shocked! She's 12 months old picking out her own shoes! I think we are in for it with this child!

A Ladybug Birthday

Briley Delaine was born May 5, 2009 at 1:54 pm. She weighed 7 lbs. 15 oz. and was 22 inches long.

Our baby girl is ONE!!
Now, she weighs in at 21 lbs. 15 oz. and is 31 inches long!

We had a really fun party for Briley's first birthday! She was in a great mood the whole time. There were a lot of people here, but she never seemed overwhelmed or shy at all. In attendance were: Bae, Grandad, Mimi, Pop, Katie, Jeremy, Mamo, Minnice, Alyssa, Haley, Frank, Brandie, the Boulers, the Stewarts, the Thomases, the Dukes

I had a lot of fun with the pink ladybug theme! Isn't this the cutest ladybug pinata! Britt says our Cinco de Mayo baby has to have a pinata for her birthday every year. We'll see!

I even found some ladybug sandals to match her ladybug outfit!

Mommy and Daddy got her this pink cozy coupe. She loves it!
Ladybug appetizers!

I made her ladybug cake!
Maddox made her "smash cake"!
She was a little hesitant to dig in. The first thing she did was stick her face and head in it!

She got the hang of it very quickly!
After a bath, it was present time!
This expression says "thank you so much for my presents, and thanks for coming to my party!"
This party may have been a little much for a one-year-old, but we have such a reason to celebrate! Briley, you are our miracle baby. You have been such a joy to us this past year, and we can't wait to see the precious little girl you are turning into!

The Beach for my birthday!

We went to the beach at Dauphin Island for my birthday. It was a beautiful day, and we had a great time! Briley LOVED it! This was her first real time at the beach.
The first thing she wanted to do was climb all over the beach chairs. She is such a monkey! When we tried to eat lunch, she ended up eating more sand than sandwich! She was absolutely wild, which made it not so relaxing for us!

She had a hard time walking on the sand. She would take 2 or 3 steps, then plop down on her bottom. I bet she did that 100 times!
Maddox was easy. He was content to dig in the sand. He could do that for hours!
We took a stroll down to a little tide pool to cool off.
Well, when Miss Briley saw the big water, she made a run for it!

She belly-laughed every time the waves would crash on her feet. She loves water!

After an hour or so, she finally chilled out in her daddy's lap for a few minutes!

This is how they looked before we even got out of the parking-lot!

11 Months Old!

The birthday party invitations are in the mail, and I can hardly believe it! This year has been a blur! I really wish it hadn't gone by so fast, but then again, those first few months were hard! Briley is really getting to be a fun age. Her little personality is really coming out. She has already started pitching little fits when she doesn't get her way. Not fun!
She still isn't saying a word, but she can meow, moo, and quack. She also yells really loud sometimes, so I taught her to say "shhh". She also likes to try to imitate her brother. Today, Maddox was pretending that one of his toys was a water hose. He gave the toy to Briley and she did the exact same thing. She idolizes him!!
After my excitement at Kindermusik a couple of weeks ago, Briley is still crawling about 85% of the time! She does like to walk if she's holding someone's hand. She was whining tonight for her daddy to hold her hand and walk her around the house. He was trying to encourage her to walk on her own. Well, guess who won!!
Briley now has 7 teeth with at least one more coming any day now. She has been a very fussy teether! I'll be glad when she has all her teeth!!
She is still taking 2 good naps every day and is still drinking 5 bottles a day, some 6 oz., but mostly 4 oz. I don't think she'll be too hard to wean from the bottle. She LOVES finger foods! She would sit in her highchair for an hour eating, if I would let her!

This girl is a daredevil! She loves to climb!

She was loving this corn-on-the-cob!

Climbing again!

She loves her pink Woo-Woo. Britt says he wouldn't have it any other way.
What a ham!
