Honorable Mention

In August, we had Briley's first sitting for her baby plan. She was NOT happy about it! She screamed her head off before we even got started. She finally fell asleep in my arms, and we ended up getting a beautiful picture!
We won "honorable mention" in their contest!

Pumpkin Patch and Seward Farms

A couple of Saturdays ago, we went to the pumpkin patch to buy our pumpkins.

Last Saturday, we went to Seward Farms. We had a good time, even though Maddox was scared to do anything! It was probably bad parenting on our part, but we forced him to go on the hay ride. The tractor went 2 mph at the most! Just look at his face:
Of course, he's been playing "hayride" on the couch every day since then!!

He did have fun playing in the box of corn:
Driving the tractor with no wheels (he couldn't figure that out at all!)
Petting the animals:

Watching a pig race:
And finding our way through the corn maze:

What a fun day! Oh, by the way, Briley stayed with Bae and Grandad because it was such a cold and windy day. I'm sure she'll join us next year!

5 Months Old

Briley has turned into such a good, sweet baby. She really only cries when she's in her carseat! She screams her head off on the way home from church every Wednesday night!!

We've gotten into a pretty good routine during the day. Nighttime is a little shaky, though! On a good day, she sleeps until 7:30 or 8:00, takes a couple of cat naps in the morning, takes a great afternoon nap, and goes to bed between 7 and 8. We've had some rough nights the past few weeks, though. She got into the habit of waking around midnight and staying awake for 2 hours! Ahhh! I hope I've gotten her out of that habit this week by letting her cry herself to sleep at naptime a few times. I absolutely HATE letting my babies cry, but it really hasn't been too bad. She's only cried for 15 or 20 minutes, then gone to sleep!

I'm still nursing, but she is getting 2 bottles of formula a day. I feed her 5 times a day, about every 3 hours. She is also eating rice cereal, apple sauce, and bananas. She is still working on eating from a spoon, but she gets better every day.

She is almost sitting up, but not quite. She is grabbing everything in sight, including her brother's toys, which he is not too happy about! He is usually pretty good at giving her a "baby toy", though! She watches Maddox like a hawk and acts like she can't wait to do everything he does! He loves to wake her up if she's asleep and we need to go somewhere. He climbs up on the side of her crib and says "Sister, wake up". She lifts her head up and gives him the biggest grin!

September

I'm a little behind, so here's the second half of September all in one blog entry!

A couple of Sundays ago, we went to Jay, Florida and had a nice visit with Mamo.

Briley decided to show off and roll from back to front for the first time! (She's been rolling front to back for about a month now.) She also let out a rare giggle for Mamo!

On the 24th, we celebrated Mimi's birthday at Gambino Brothers. We had a great dinner. Maddox LOVES spaghetti. When we left he said "That was fun. We ate and ate and ate and ate and ate, then it got dark"!! That pretty much sums it up!

Of course, we've been watching a LOT of football lately! So glad that Bama is undefeated!! I think we've spent every Saturday with Bucky, Carla, and Colton. I guess Colton is like a little brother to Maddox!
Briley and Colton will be all over the place and into everything before we know it!

I found their matching smocked Bama outfits at Kidz Klozet. I love that place! I couldn't resist these outfits! Aren't they cute?

The weather is finally starting to cool off a little bit so that Briley can join us outside.

Maddox is getting really good at riding the bike he got for his birthday.

Rice Cereal! Yummy!

Briley tried rice cereal for the first time tonight!

After a few minutes of us oohing and ahhing over Briley eating cereal, Maddox had had quite enough of her getting all the attention!

Briley Finds Her Feet

I just think it's the cutest thing when babies play with their feet!
